Wymondham Heritage Museum

Housed in England's first model prison built in 1785, to replace the old Bridewell condemned by prison reformer John Howard. It later served as a police station and courthouse. Access to original 19thC cell and a re-created underground dungeon. Many displays of local interest including Kett's Rebellion, brushmaking, farming and a 1930s shop. Also exhibits on prehistory, Roman, Saxon, medieval times, the Victorians and the world wars. Some displays changed annually. Slide presentation and audios about prison life. Video presentation and a special exhibition.
